Sports Enhancement Programs
While winning isn’t everything, let’s face it, it is fun when your team is on the winning side. Less than three decades ago, most athletes used the off-season as a time for taking a break from their sport with relaxing activities.
Today's athletes are finding the importance of strength and conditioning during the off-seasons, and professional athletes are by no means the only people aware of its benefits. At Sports Medicine Center our goal is not to make you the world's greatest athlete. Our goal is to help you be the best athlete you can be. Athletes of every level will benefit from our unique approach to sports enhancement.
We offer sports specific programs that will enhance all levels of athletes. Whether you are cyclist, a runner, softball player, kayaker, football player, golfer, or soccer player, we have a program to improve your game and body. Our sports enhancement programs are designed to improve performance and decrease your potential for injury by concentrating on the areas most susceptible to injury in your sport and/or your body structure.
Strength & Conditioning training – The expertise of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Athletic Trainers, and Certified Personal Trainers, we are the leaders in designing and implementing strength training and conditioning programs for area athletes.
Pre-season conditioning programs –The programs are designed to improve the athlete’s competitive edge by gaining speed, agility, power, balance, and strength while learning techniques to reduce ACL and other sports related injuries. Programs for soccer, hockey, football, softball & baseball, basketball, track, and tennis players are offered. The programs are offered individually or as a team.
Personal Training – One on one customized personal fitness training. We offer sessionS in our clinics or in your home.
Programs now being offered are:
- Golf-Fit – group golf specific conditioning program. Classes offered each spring.
- Body Balance for Performance - one on one customized golf conditioning program. Offered all year.
- Peak Performance - an agility, strength and conditioning program for athletes. Program offered during the summer, fall and winter.
- Kayak/Canoe Fitness Class – Strength training, and paddling techniques, beginning in April.
- Sportsmetrics - plyometric training for teams or individuals offered all year. Program designed to increase speed, agility, flexibility, and power for soccer, volley ball, and basketball. We are a Certified Clinical Site for Cincinnati Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation
- Ski-Fit – ski specific conditioning class offered each fall.
- Virtual Snow ski and snowboard simulator – closest training to being on the snow. Ski and snowboard lesson are offered all year. From beginners to advanced competitive racers benefit from sessions on Virtual Snow.
- Law Enforcement Personal Training - Avail abel to State Police Officers, County Sheriff Officers and City Police Officers.
- Sports Enhancement Assessments - A set of sports specific physical tests designed to determine fitness level for the sport.
- Fitness Assessments - a set of physical tests to determine your general fitness level and base line measurements. A great way to begin a fitness program.
