We are excited to launch CrossFit Petoskey. CrossFit is a strength and conditioing system built on constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity. We combine strength training and aerobic training to shorten your workout and to get results you just can't get in any other way. CrossFit Petoskey is an affiliate of CrossFit (www.crossfit.com).

How CrossFit Works:
Constantly Varied
Looking at all sport and physical tasks collectively, we asked what physical skills and adaptations would most universally lend themselves to performance advantage. The answer is the ability to quickly adapt to constantly changing physical demands - force, direction, intensity, duration. Sport specific and routine exercise leads to plateau and lack of progress. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing.
Functional Movements
Functional movements are universal motor recruitment patterns - they are performed in a wave of contraction from core to extremity and are compound or multi-joint movements. This is how we most effectively move in daily life, sports, and activities. Your fitness program should reflect that functionality.
High Intensity (Scaled to the individual)
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Runners, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen, varied only in intensity. The reason is that all utilize the same movement patters with their activities, just at a different load and intensity.
