Jeff Samyn, Physical Therapist, Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Jeff earned his B.S. in psychology and Master's in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University.  Jeff has earned certifications both as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Jeff heads up our Worksite Medicine program, which focuses on ergonomics assessments, job analysis, post offer screening, and Functional Capacity Evaluations.  His expertise is in the management and treatment of back and neck pain, orthotic fabrication, and peripheral joint rehabilitation.  Jeff and his wife have a daughter and 2 dogs.  In addition to spending time with his family, Jeff enjoys mountain biking, fitness training, fishing, snow-shoeing, hiking and most other outdoor activities.


 
      Sandy Willoughby, Physical Therapist, CSCS
Sandy joined NMSMC in 2006 after moving here from the Ann Arbor area.  She finished her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 1992 and has been in outpatient orthopedics since that time. Sandy became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2002.  As a mother of two, Sandy has a special interest in helping women during their childbearing years by offering prenatal and postpartum exercise classes and treating any pregnancy/postpartum physical therapy clients.  She is currently living in the Brutus area with her husband and two daughters enjoying small farming, camping, hiking, and snowshoeing.

 
      Mary Sullivan, Physical Therapist

Mary is originally from Addison, IL and has a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI.  She has worked in outpatient orthopedics in Massachusetts, Maryland, and Nevada, before moving to northern Michigan.  Mary treats her patients with a combination of manual techniques with exercise to get get them back to normal function.  She enjoys spending time with family, running, hiking, crocheting, and scrap-booking.
 
Adam Ancel MS, ATC
                                                              
Adam, originally from Alma, graduated from Lake Superior State University in 2007 with his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training.  Adam continued his education at Illinois State University and graduated with a master's degree in Kinesiology in 2009.  While at ISU, Adam focused on manual therapy and also became a Certified Graston Practitioner.  Adam's past experiences include working as an athletic trainer for the Prairie Thunder of the International Hockey League, Miami University's summer hockey program, and as an orthopedic physician extender.  When Adam isn't working in the clinic, he also provides athletic training services to the Petoskey High School athletics. In his spare time Adam enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, sports, working out, and hopes to complete a half Ironman Triathlon in the near future.



   

 Phil Loesch, MA, Certified Athletic Trainer
Phil brings with him 20+ years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, working in several different venues, including 5 years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Yale University, 8 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Wayne State University and 9 years acting as the Director of Rehabilitation and Life Wellness Services at Gerber Memorial Health Services. Phil is a certified Level 1 CrossFit trainer.  During Phil's free time, he enjoys hunting and biking.

   Megan Mainland, Aquatic Instructor        
Megan is a native of Boyne City and received her Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan       University in Early Childhood Development with a minor in Psychology.  Megan and her husband,    Ken, own Hilltop Preschool and Childcare.  She is certified as a Water Safety Instructor and as a Lifeguard.  Megan enjoys watching children and their parents work together while participating in the Parent and Child aquatic classes. 

    

Emily Leestma, Physical Therapy Aide, Patient Representative       
Emily is a Northern Michigan native and graduated from Petoskey High School in 2006.  Currently, Emily is attending Ferris State University pursuing a degree in Health Care Administration.  When not working or going to school, she enjoys mountain biking, skiing, running, hiking with her dogs, Ammo and Gauge and spending time with her family and friends.

  

Courtney Voelker, Physical Therapy Aide        
Courtney is a native of Petoskey and graduated from Petoskey High School.  She traveled to New Zealand for a year before earning her Associate of Arts at NCMC.  Courtney continued her education with a Bachelor degree from Lake Superior State University majoring in Sports and Recreation Management.  Courtney and her husband, Dave, enjoy biking, skiing, hiking, and playing sports.

 


    

Molly Hausler, Physical Therapy Aide       
Molly is a native of Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School in 2006.  She attended North Central Michigan College where she received her Associate of Arts degree in 2008 and continued her education at Grand Valley State University to receive her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science in April 2011.  Molly is currently working toward getter certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  In her spare time, she enjoys baking, making jewel, spending time outdoors, and spending time with my family and playing sports.

 

Denise Muha, Front Desk Manager
Denise considers herself a Petoskey native since she had moved here in 1978!  She was born in Iowa, raised in Wisconsin, and graduated from high school in the Upper Peninsula. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan and children, Josh and Jessica.  They live on a farm in Petoksey with their chocolate lab Whisper.  Hiking, snowshoeing, biking, needlework, reading and shopping are some of her favorite things to do.
